Give Your AI a NEET-PG Counselling Expert: Connect Desire MCP

Imagine asking your AI, “At AIR 15,000, what did Open and EWS candidates get for MS General Surgery?”—and having it check Desire’s counselling records instead of guessing from memory.

That is what MCP makes possible: it lets compatible AI apps use tools and data from another service. Desire’s remote MCP server connects your AI to NEET-PG counselling data and the published seat matrix.

Server address: https://desire.drdp.dev/mcp

This guide covers a private custom MCP connection, not the public Desire ChatGPT plugin. The plugin submission is a separate process and is still under review.

1. Connect your AI

You only need the server URL above. The exact menu and availability can vary by app, account and plan. These are direct starting points tested by the author:

Shortcut: you can also ask the AI app itself: “Show me how to add a custom remote MCP server in this app. My server URL is https://desire.drdp.dev/mcp.”

ChatGPT (web browser)

  1. Open ChatGPT Plugins in your browser.
  2. Choose the option to add a custom connector/MCP server.
  3. Name it Desire and enter https://desire.drdp.dev/mcp.
  4. Choose OAuth/sign-in when prompted, continue to Desire and authorize the account with an active Premium subscription.
  5. Start a chat and select or mention Desire when asking a counselling question.

Custom MCP setup is currently web-only. Access depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace; Pro access is limited to read/fetch permissions, which fit Desire’s read-only tools. For the latest steps, see OpenAI’s setup guide.

Claude (web, then Android or desktop)

  1. Open Claude’s custom connectors page.
  2. Select Add custom connector, name it Desire, and enter https://desire.drdp.dev/mcp.
  3. Continue through the detected OAuth settings and authorize your Desire account.
  4. Open a chat and enable Desire if needed.

Set up the connector on the web first; then use the same Claude account on Android or desktop. See Claude’s remote MCP guide.

Gemini

Open Gemini custom connectors. Choose Add a custom app, enter https://desire.drdp.dev/mcp, and follow the prompts. Availability depends on your Google account and region; once connected, use the same account on Gemini web or mobile.

Availability note: Google’s current custom-app feature has regional and account requirements and is limited to eligible personal accounts in the US. If you do not see the option, use one of the other clients in this guide. Google’s setup instructions.

Grok

Open Grok, choose Plugins in the sidebar, then select New Connector. Add https://desire.drdp.dev/mcp and follow the authorization prompts.

2. Why Desire Premium?

Connecting the server is only the first step. An active Desire Premium subscription is required to authorize and use Desire MCP. Sign in with the same Desire account that has Premium; the server checks the entitlement when connecting and during requests.

Desire exposes purpose-built, read-only tools for counselling data and the seat matrix. It does not provide arbitrary SQL execution or access to private account and subscription records. If Premium is active but authorization is denied, check which Desire account you signed into and reconnect.

Explore Desire at desire.drdp.dev.

3. Ask better questions

After connecting, try prompts like these:

  • “Use Desire to find historical AIQ MS General Surgery allotments around AIR 15,000. Separate Open and EWS categories and show the round and exact allotted rank.”
  • “Compare MD Radiodiagnosis and MD General Medicine options around my rank using historical AIQ records. Clearly separate exact-rank matches from nearby ranks.”
  • “Check the 2026 PG seat matrix and summarize seats by quota and Degree.”
  • “Which counselling years and rounds are available in the Desire database?”
  • “Compare 2025 vs 2026 number of seats in Telangana state under all india AIQ counselling.”

For the most useful answer, include your rank, counselling pathway, category, preferred courses and any state constraints. Ask Desire to distinguish historical allotments from seat-matrix entries: a listed seat is not proof that a candidate was allotted it.

Watch the Desire usage tutorial from 39 seconds. The earlier part covers the ChatGPT plugin, so start at 0:39 for the relevant usage walkthrough.

The idea is simple: connect once, ask naturally, and let your AI consult real counselling records before it answers. Your AI supplies the conversation; Desire supplies the counselling data.
